About Daily Genius

Daily Genius is a free quiz you can finish over a cup of coffee, and it's a little harder than it looks.

What it is

Every day there's one new quiz, the same for everyone. The first four questions are word clues whose answers all fit the same number of letter squares. The last four are wildcards from sports, music, film, history, science, geography and math. You have fifteen minutes, and at the end you get a score to compare with friends.

Why we made it

We wanted a daily habit that rewards curious people of every kind. A word lover and a sports fan should both have a fair shot at a great score, and both should learn something along the way. That's why every finished quiz goes into the archive with the answers explained, and every past word round answer lands in the word list.

How the questions are made

Questions are written ahead of time and checked before they go live. Number questions have a fair range, so a close guess still earns points. If you think an answer is wrong, please tell us and we'll fix it.

How the site is paid for

Daily Genius is free to play and supported by advertising. Ads appear only after you hand in your quiz, never while the clock is running. You can read how ads use cookies in our privacy policy.
